Is a treatment, different from cure?

A treatment differs from cure, in that a treatment is an effort to accomplish a mission while cure is the mission accomplished. Use of different medicated anti dandruff shampoos are treatments and cessation of shedding of flakes of dead skin cells is one of the cures for dandruff. In medical profession; surgery, medication and radiation are a few types of treatments used to cure a diseases.  While all the cures are treatments, not all the treatments are cures. It is because treatments are the means to achieve cure as an end, while cure in itself is an end achieved or to be achieved. A treatment may become a cure sometimes, while it may not always.
Is there a cure for every disease?

Most of the diseases are treatable and curable, meaning that after the treatment the original condition of health is resumed in a patient. A few  diseases ; treatable though, are not curable. For example there are treatments for Hepatitis B but there is no cure for it. Similar is the case with AIDS and some other diseases too. In such cases doctors try to eliminate, minimize, control or comfort the patient through temporary or makeshift arrangements for example there is no cure for diabetes but the doctors try to overcome the symptoms through external administration of insulin; which in case of diabetes is not produced sufficiently by the pancreas.

Which systems of treatment are more known?

There are many systems of medicine like : Allopathic system utilizes pharmacologically active ingredients to eliminate, minimize or control the physical changes that inflict pain or cause a disease. It is also sometimes known as western, modern, evidence based or bio medicine. Ayuryedic medicine is a three dimensional approach and concentrates equally on body, mind and spirit, utilizing diet, yoga, meditation, massage and herbs etc. Chinese medicine is a combination of herbal treatment, acupuncture and therapeutic exercises like Qigong. Homeopathy is a non toxic, cheaper treatment, Chiropractic focuses spine and vitamin treatments are efforts to make up vitamins deficiencies. All of these systems have a treatment of their own for dandruff.

What are the cures for dandruff?

Allopathic system, mostly utilizes Ketoconazole, Zinc Pyrithione, Tar , Salicylic acid and selenium sulphide, Ayurvedic system utilizes, lime juice massage, egg shampoo, application of fenugreek paste made by grinding presoaked fenugreek and applying it on scalp for about half an hour on alternate days. This system also utilizes Tulsi, Amla, as well as Neem and tea tree oil. Chinese system utilizes acupuncture, considering that dandruff is caused by excessive presence of blood in liver and the relevant point for curing dandruff is near elbow. This system also utilizes Angelica and peony for dandruff cure. Chinese practitioners consider that dandruff is caused by imbalance of homeostasis and can be corrected through regulating the blood flow in liver. Heshou Wu is a herb; normally used to treat grey or thin hair, also prevents dandruff. Use of brush during shower is recommended in Chinese cures for dandruff.
